Holiday shopping

Holiday shopping

You might think it’s too early to be talking about this but here’s my hot take. This year we all need a little more joy. A little more warmth. A little more love.

And, let’s face it, small businesses need a little more help.

Was I crazy to start a new business in the middle of a pandemic? Absolutely. Is it going ok anyway? Yes. And that’s thanks to you! I am so grateful to you for your support as I’m getting this full-time artist/gallery owner gig up and running.

I have many offerings available this holiday season to help you with your shopping. I sell notecards and prints. I offer gift cards. I have some ORIGINAL paintings available for under $100. There are also some ranging a little higher in price if you’re looking for a WOW gift. If you’d like to commission a piece for delivery in the new year, we can talk about that, too.

I’m also very pleased to be taking part in this year’s Kingston Holiday Market, which runs November 12-December 13. You can find my work there along with more than 90 other makers from YGK and the surrounding area.

And, here’s the thing, I’ve got a leg up that most people don’t have. I’m going to be OK this Christmas—largely thanks to all of you.

But there are other businesses who REALLY need your help this season. That have had to adapt and change their whole operations to fit the pandemic. They need our help more than ever. And so do the charities that support the most vulnerable in our community.

Please consider the following ideas for your holiday shopping this year: gift cards to your favourite restaurants and cafes, merchandise from shops you’d like to stay open, donations to charities doing work you believe in, gifts from your favourite artists and makers.

I will be absolutely honoured to be a part of your gift-giving this holiday season, and I hope you include my friends and neighbours when you shop as well.
